I was ramming molds with a 2-inch vent wire for a solid year before a guy from the Toledo shop asked why I wasn't using a 1/4-inch.

Man, that's the kind of shop wisdom that makes you want to bang your head on the table. A whole year of extra work because the right tool was sitting in a drawer somewhere. Did they just enjoy watching you struggle, or what?

Right? That "shop wisdom" is just old guys gatekeeping.

Ugh, been there. I started just quietly looking through every cabinet and drawer on my own time. Found a bearing puller they said we didn't have, saved me two hours of hammering. Sometimes you just have to ignore the "proper" way and find it yourself.
