Unpopular opinion: making a mix CD for someone beats a Spotify playlist link any day

Spent an afternoon in 2008 carefully picking songs and designing a liner note with my friend's name on it. A shared link just doesn't have that same feeling of effort and thought behind it. Do younger people even get the struggle of finding the perfect 80-minute blank disc?

The liner notes were the best part...

Yeah, because the actual music was just background noise for that tiny font novel you got with the CD. Spent more time squinting at thank you lists than listening to track three.
