Just realized new apartment complexes are ditching cable closets entirely
I helped a friend run some lines in a brand new building last weekend (he's an installer, I just tag along sometimes). Every unit had a single panel in the living room with just ethernet and power, no dedicated space for cable gear anymore. It seems like the design assumes all equipment will be out in the open now, which looks cleaner I guess. But it makes me think about how installers have to work with less hidden infrastructure. Changes the whole approach to setting up a place, right?
